Emile-Antoine Bourdelle undertook the decoration of the fa\u00e7ade of the Th\u00e9\u00e2tre des Champs-Elys\u00e9es from 1910 to 1912. The present plaster comes from the central frieze which is located at the heart of the fa\u00e7ade. In the review he published, Albert T’Serstevens wrote: “Pour Bourdelle, la sculpture de son th\u00e9\u00e2tre est de la vie tir\u00e9e de la chair m\u00eame du mouvement: elle s’accorde avec lui, elle ob\u00e9it aux lignes de l’architecture, elle a l’humilit\u00e9 douce et la grandeur h\u00e9ro\u00efque d’une amante” (A. T’Sterstevens, <\/span>Comoedia<\/span><\/i>, December 21 1912).<\/span><\/p>\n
